Setting the Stage for Collaborative Education Care Professionals

Handouts for June 4th Conference

On Monday, June 4, 2012, WCN held its second annual statewide conference based upon IOM recommendations, "Setting the Stage for Collaborative Education and Practice Among Health Care Professionals," at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells.

Conference events focused on key messages from the IOM Report for improving education systems and developing partnerships with other health care professionals, to build upon work done in 2011 at state and regional meetings.

The conference was cooperatively offered by Wisconsin Center for Nursing, Future of Nursing™ Campaign for Action, Wisconsin Action Coalition, Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative, and the Wisconsin Nurses Association.

Dynamic breakout sessions included hot topics which have profound impact on today’s nursing education and practice, including residency programs, scope of practice, diversity, and data from Wisconsin Education and RN Survey Reports. The conference was attended by Nurses, health care leaders, practitioners, educators, researchers, policy makers and students.
